In July 2026, Haeran Ryu etched her name into the history of The Amundi Evian Championship with a performance that combined resilience, composure and world-class golf. At just 25 years old, the South Korean captured her second major title in the space of three weeks, prevailing in a dramatic playoff against Brooke Henderson.
After seeing her lead disappear during the final round, Ryu responded with remarkable determination. A clutch birdie on the 18th hole secured her place in the playoff, before she sealed victory at the very first extra hole in front of an enthralled Evian crowd.
The week was also highlighted by a historic achievement. One day before lifting the trophy, Ryu fired a sensational 60 (-11), the lowest score ever recorded in a major championship on the LPGA Tour. It was a masterclass in precision, consistency and control, showcasing golf of the highest calibre.
